ITF-14 barcode generator and reference
Generate ITF-14 shipping and packaging barcodes with GTIN validation, sizing controls and print-ready vector output.
What is ITF-14?
ITF-14 is commonly used to encode GTIN-14 identifiers on shipping containers, cartons and outer packaging. It is based on Interleaved 2 of 5 and is designed for reliable scanning on packaging materials that may not provide the same print quality as retail labels.
Depending on the printing method and packaging specification, ITF-14 symbols may use bearer bars around the barcode.
Data and validation
ITF-14 uses a 14-digit GTIN, including a required check digit. Barcode Next validates numeric length and check-digit consistency before generating the final symbol.
Structure, size and quiet zones
The symbol uses paired numeric encoding, so the final bar pattern is compact for numeric data. Quiet zones must remain clear, and bearer-bar configuration may be relevant depending on the intended print process.
Barcode Next support
Create ITF-14 codes from single values or product lists, control output size and surrounding layout, and export vector artwork for packaging or labels.
